The detailed Business Process Framework design comprises the following components; • a specification for each element of the Business Process Framework schematic diagram. • a detailed flowchart for each element of the Business Process Framework schematic diagram. • a specification for each element (action or decision) of the detailed flowcharts for each element of the Business Process Framework schematic diagram.

Quality

Schematic Diagram Element Task Assignments

The specification for each element of the BPF schematic diagram must contain the following components; 1. Context – a few paragraphs setting out why this activity is necessary, how it integrates with the activities connected to it, and what is the theory behind the element. 2. Purpose – one sentence setting out what is the singular function of this element within the overall process. 3. Quantity – a statement of the quantifiable/measurable deliverables from the activity. This documents what is required by any activity that receives (as input) the output from this activity. 4. Quality – a specification for the quality/acceptance criteria for, and the method (if it matters) for producing, the deliverable.

Detailed Flowcharts

The detailed flowcharts for each element of the BPF schematic diagram must set out each action and decision necessary to execute the element.

Each flowchart must be developed to a level of detail where every action and decision that is important to the consistent performance of the activity is identified. Relationships between actions and decisions must be indicated by the flowchart connections between them. Typically this results in a detailed flowchart comprising between 20 and 50 actions or decisions for each of the elements from the Business Process Framework schematic diagram.

Action/Decision Task Assignments

A Task Assignment must be provided for each for the actions and decisions on each of the detailed flowcharts.
